Biography
Patrick is the Director of Capability Strategy in Space Capability Branch, in Joint Capabilities Group of the ADF.
Patrick is Canadian-born, having completed 12 years in the Canadian Forces before joining the RAAF in October 1996. He retired from the RAAF in March 2024 and undertakes his current role as a reservist.
Patrick has a strong background in satellite communications having executed roles in capability development, operations management, and acquisition and sustainment across Defence.
His accomplishments have been formally recognised through awards such as the US Meritorious Service Medal in 2014 for his work with the US in the WGS program; a Chief of the Defence Force Commendation in 2017, and the Conspicuous Service Cross on King’s Birthday 2024.
Patrick has a Bachelor of Engineering and Master in Strategy and Management. He is a Graduate and Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a Fellow and Chartered Professional Engineer of Engineers Australia. He is also the Deputy President of the Returned and Services League in the ACT. Patrick and Helene will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary this August, and in his spare time Patrick enjoys road cycling, fly-fishing and attending rugby games in Canberra.
