Biography
Jackie was a Defence scientist for 36 years in the UK and Australia. She has expertise in electro-optics, unmanned aerial systems, space-based and GIS systems, ISR and cyber and electromagnetic warfare. She has led large 5-eyes R&D programs and has received several national and international awards for scientific leadership from the Defence and Intelligence S&T community. She currently chairs the Research Investment Committee of SmartSat and is an adjunction Professor at Flinders University.
She has been a member of the State Emergency Service for 8 years in an operations role, including crew leader. She has deployed four times into disaster areas performing a number of operational roles including Rapid Damage Assessment, Storm Crew and Ground Observer.
